ABOUT Me

Hailing from Long Island, New York, Jaysix has spent his entire life and career on the East Coast. Growing up in Huntington, Jesse spent his first 17 years focused on his three biggest passions—music, writing and sports.Going through Harborfields Public Central School District, Jesse found a love for writing early in primary school. His 1st grade journal stated that he loved to write “free verse poems” and soon began writing short stories in the 3rd grade. As an 8th grader, he married his love for Hip Hop and Writing into his very first 16 bar verse. Jesse continued to write raps for the next 4 years, without releasing a single song. Even though he knew he had an ability, he was shy to share his raps with other people in fear of judgment. That is until his first SoundCloud track “Gravity” released in 2016 when he was 17 years old.

Early excitement for Six on SoundCloud grew from the ears he gained during his senior year of high school and his 4 years of college. Jesse attended Temple University in North Philadelphia from 2016-2020, pledging the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and obtaining his bachelors degree in Advertising Copywriting.

Jess interned at 3 different advertising agencies before accepting an offer as a Copywriter at a Pharmaceutical Advertising Agency shortly before graduating in March 2020. His interview, initially set from March 11th, was pushed from ‘In Person’ in the Madison Avenue Manhattan Office to a virtual interview on March 17th, when Jesse accepted a job offer. He’s now onto his second advertising agency, FCB Health, without ever being mandated to report to an office in person. Jesse even took the initiative to start writing raps and short jingles for the brands he worked on.

Jay soon figured out that he wanted copywriting to be more of a skill, and less of a career. He shifted his focus towards making a career in music, which never even seemed feasible until he actually had real world experience and understood the business side of music.

After spending just 14 months in the workforce, Jesse made a decision in the summer of 2021 that he was going to fully commit himself towards making a career out of rapping. He knew that to be successful with this, he’d have to do much more than just make good music. He spent the next several months tirelessly researching the music industry, how to find traction on different social media platforms, and how to ultimately turn his music into a business.
